The Lufthansa Group has lately received its 600th Airbus aircraft, an A321Neo during a special ceremony at Airbus Hamburg Finkenwerder. On this aircraft, to celebrate this special occasion, the livery included the statement: “600th Airbus aircraft” on the side of the aircraft. The Lufthansa group is formed by Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Lufthansa, and Swiss International Air Lines.
During the ceremony Lufthansa’s Chairman, Carten Spohr, said the following: “Lufhansa and Airbus are united by a very special partnership. Ever since Airbus’s creation, we have enjoyed close and trusting collaborations on a wide range of research projects and new developments.”
Sphor also stated that Lufthansa has been a launch customer for many Airbus aircraft, including the A300B2, A310, A340, A220, and the A320neo: “Lufthansa has ordered every family of aircraft that Airbus has developed over the past five decades. And more than 90 percent of the 600 Airbuses that we have taken delivery of during that time are still in Lufthansa Group service today.”
Spohr also stated that the The Lufthansa Group will take delivery of its 700th Airbus aircraft probably during 2026.
Guillaume Faury, Airbus CEO said: “My particular thanks, on behalf of everyone at Airbus, go to all the teams at Lufthansa for all their confidence and trust. We look forward to the next 50 years of our partnership and our shared commitment to the goal of sustainable air travel.”
